Seeking GOD for Revival
of His Church and Nation.
That all may experience the Glory and Holiness of GOD
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory." At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. (Isaiah 6:1-4)
And turn from our worldly sinful nature
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. (Isaiah 5:20)
Where is the Church today?
Unfortunately today the church has become very secular in it's pursuits. We continually attempt to match the world, staying only a few steps behind the latest trends. Sadly, we accept many things that we know to be sin. We let the sin of the world set the standard we obey instead of looking to Holy Scripture for our standard. The makeup of the family as set forth and designed by God has come under attack and been redefined by secular interest. Churches are being run by lost people. Today 60% of ''saved'' people in church are not assured of their own salvation. 90% do not know how to live under the power of the Holy Spirit and 98% have never shared the gospel message with another person. It is said that ''so goes the family, so goes the church, and, so goes the church then goes the nation.'' What is left to do when all that's black and white turns gray? If the church has lost the light, then what will the nation do? How can we stop and reverse this trend? It is the responsibility of saved people to affect the world. The lost can do no different than they do now, they are lost. Pray that GOD would send revival, another great awakening to his Church and to our Nation!!
When Revival Comes
What happens when revival comes? What is revival? When revival comes many things happen; God's Word will be exalted and authoritative over man's experience. There will be an intense conviction of sin, leading to repentance. Humility and brokenness will be evident. There will be deliberate acts of reconciliation and restitution. There will be a growing interest in prayer. Joy will be untainted and pure. Evangelism will flourish. It will be as Jesus is walking among us!
What Can You and I do Today?
Nothing that you or I do of ourselves here in this world will do anything to change the course we are on. However, we do have a large arsenal of weapons against the evil one within our power, God's Grace and PRAYER !! Build your prayer life and your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray and spend quiet time with the Lord each day. Pray and worship with your family daily. Insure your Church is a House of prayer. (Matthew 21:13 ) Join or start a lunchtime prayer group. Prayer does change things. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24) If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. (Matthew 21:22) Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. (Luke 18:1) Pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Seek the Face of the LORD
Cry out in Prayer, Daily!
